This book offers a holistic approach. Sleep problems do not exist in isolation but are part of one's total life experience, says Chopra, who is executive director of the Sharp Institute for Human Potential and Mind/Body Medicine in San Diego. Remedying sleep problems, he stresses, requires improving one's waking life.
The book reviews 5000-year-old Ayurvedic health concepts and describes strategies for soothing the senses such as meditation, massage, breathing techniques, and yoga postures. It includes a chapter on dreams and dreaming, and on insomnia in children and in the elderly. A brief, gentle, thoughtful guide.
