I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1996 and have recently seen a Neurologist who has recomended I change medications. I was taking 40 mg of Elavil per day, but he has changed my medication to 100mg of Topamax. I have only been taking it for less than a week, but I am not sleeping well at all. He said it should help with some of the chronic nerve pain I am having as well as act as a sleep and weight loss aid. I am about 40 lbs over weight, and just like most Fibromyalgia patients, I have a terrible time sleeping. All of this sounded wonderful, but I am really anixous now that almost a week has past and I am not resting as well as I did on the Elavil. Has anyone taken Topamax for their Fibromyalgia?
