Like some of you on this board I have experienced multiple episodes of SP for quite a while. When I first experienced them about 10 years ago, I had no clue what was happening to me. It wasn't until I finally went online to look for information on these terrifying experiences that I learnt about SP and about other people's experiences with it. I can't even describe how relieved I was when I finally found a name for it and realized that this was happening to other people as well. Since then, I have become extremely interested in SP and in finding out what role the Internet plays/ed for other people who suffer from it. So interested indeed, that I have decided to devote my Ph.D. dissertation on this topic. The purpose of this message is to ask if you would be interested in talking to me and answering some questions for the study I am currently conducting. From reading your posts, I thought that all of you might have some interesting perspectives on this topic. I am a Ph.D. student in speech communication at the Pennsylvania State University and am conducting this study both because of my research interest in online communication and because of my personal experience with SP. If you are interested in this study, or if you would like more information on the study, please don't hesitate to contact me at cxw329@psu.edu. I look forward to chatting with you!
