Follow-Up:
Hi Spectator :-) Well, snoring may occur alone or be the presenting feature of obstructive sleep apnea, which is the most common form of sleep apnea. But, it is essential to disentangle simple snoring from the presence of Obstructive Sleep Apnea which needs further detailed investigation and management. The major difference between simple snoring and sleep apnea is that with sleep apnea there are additional symptoms such as waking up every morning feeling that you didn't get a good night's sleep, experiencing excessive sleepiness during the day, going through your work day in a daze or frequently with a headache, irritability, falling asleep while driving ("drowsy driver syndrome"), upon reaching home you're too tired to pay attention to your wife or kids. If a person displays even a few of these symptoms, chances are they're suffering from sleep apnea. Other symptoms may also include decreased memory, impotence, and clinical depression. ~ Kayla
