Kayla: I really appreciate you taking time to respond...The reason I made this post is that I have been a 'regular' SP sufferer for about 10yrs but this experience was different...while SP is definately terrifying (sometimes more than others)I have, for the most part, grown accustomed, and recognise when I 'wake'that I am 'sleeping'and focus on staying calm and making a small movement to break the paralysis...This experience was qualitatively different...I really believed that the only way to 'survive' was to stay awake...other things seemed to confirm this...Like, at the time, I was watching TV (to stay awake). There was a cartoon - the similarities were striking...In the toon the main character 'had to stay awake' because an advanced evil scientist was attempting to posess his mind and transform him into a murderous serpent.'Staying awake' was the only way to win...Considering what I was going through the coincidence seemed a 'sign'. Especially as I had a dream weeks prior to the onset of this experience in which I was told that 'a giant serpent would be roused from the ocean/me.'
