Follow-Up:

Everyone has sleep paralysis 4 to 6 times every night --- each time we cycle into REM sleep. It protects us from harm by preventing us from acting out our dreams.

Awareness during Sleep Paralysis, ASP, is unusual and is often extremely frightening, but it doesn't have to be. Many people welcome it and some people even seek it because it can be a gateway to Out-of-Body experiences and/or lucid dreams of incredible beauty.

Paradoxically, the key is to relax. Struggling only prolongs the agony. Communicate with other experiencers --- many of whom have made this decision to relax --- via the ASP-L mailing list (See .sig)
