Hello Alicia :-) I think anyone who has trouble breathing, whether it's for a few seconds or minutes, should seek medical treatment immediately. And if you're current doctor is saying all that is wrong with you is that you need to drink more water, I think you should get a second opinion. Alicia, even if you have to go to 3 or 4 different doctors, you should look for one who is qualified to help you. I wonder if you could have a problem with asthma. But I think what also might be happening here is that because you have not done much exercise, perhaps your lungs are just out of shape. Maybe by doing daily aerobic exercise and increasing the oxygen flow into the lungs, you will in effect stretch them to allow for more oxygen. Many people who live in mountainous areas have a lung capacity which far exceeds our capacity because they must use their lungs more to allow for more oxygen at heights where oxygen is not as abundant as it is here. Also, since they live in the mountains they have more aerobic activity which increases lung capacity. Try doing more exercise and see if this helps. Good luck! ~ Kayla
