i am 47 ,and have a similar situation . Back surgery same area . On oxycontin . I had sweats even before some of the back problems. Your medication is one reason . the hydacordone will cause your blood pressure to chabge and you will get the sweats . mostly head , and neck area . Sometimes for no reason elsewhere . your type 2 doesn't help the situation . that in itself would be enough to give you the sweats just about anytime . What you should try doing if possible is avoid taking medications close to bedtime . also a slow down period to allow your body to adjust and prepare for sleep . Avoid foods and drinks before retiring .water will be ok . You will find that it is tied in with your B/P . if you have a cuff ,check it out when you go to bed . If or when you get the sweats ,check it again . you will probably have a higher second number . maybe the doc can provide something to keep it down when you go to bed ? Just lyimg down can have an effect . Don't know if you work out ? walk ? need to try . walking 3 times a week for 20 plus minutes will help put stuff back in order . You heard how your heart rate is suppose to slow down when at rest ? Like an athelete ? You raise your heart rate when you exhert and when you stop it is suppose to slow down to a very nice low rate and do it quickly .For me it was like dying after 5 minutes of walking ! and my heart was pounding long after I stopped . even the doc was worried in a stress test with the treadmill . they don't release you until your heart reaches a certain level . mine didnot go back down to that level after an hour of sitting. I only mention this because if you don't have your heart conditioned to accelerate and then recover with out showing signs of being overly taxed , how could it cope with your type 2 ?or the medicines you take elevate B/P and cause your heart to speed up ,how can it slow down when it is time or even slow to combat the meds. it won't therefore ,you sweat . Just like me .a lot less now and still working on it. Good luck
