Today is the first day I learned of so many people with BMS. The first time I noticed the burning symptoms was after endoscopy when I was diagnosed with GERD (acid reflux). Dr. prescribed Prilosec. The burning was unbelievable after just one dose. I complained and he changed the script to Prevacid - Same results, intense burning. I was aware of my mouth every waking minute of the day. So he changed the script again to Axid 150. With that I received some temporary relief, but the burning has resumed. The burning area is my whole tongue, maybe my soft palate, but it is hard to distinguish. My tongue is also swollen and has a thick yellowish coating. My gums burn also and sometimes I have tender teeth. They just feel like all the nerves are exposed. I have not had any major dental work done. I do take zoloft which I believed caused bruxism and for which, my doctor prescribed buspar as an antidote for the bruxism. It works pretty well. I don't know what to do. GP says go to dentist, Dentist says go to GP. Also, dentist thought it might be Herpes one time, but has given that up. I'm ready to try the tobasco. It can't hurt any worse!
