I have suffered with RLS for many years. Was only DX in the last two years. I have walked, cried and rocked at night looking for relief. I have tried stretching my legs very hot showers and beating on my legs. I have taken many different medications for the RLS. Starting out with Ambien which was a real joke, then I went to Nuerontin, Phenobarbital, Klonopin, then back to Nuerontin. They all worked for a while then stopped. One night my back was acting up and I had an old perscription of Hydrocodone and took it for the pain in my back. Well, that night I slept the best I had in years. When I went back to the Doctors I told her about the Hydrocodone. She was not happy about the idea of me taking it for my RLS. She had said it was habit forming, as far as I was concerned I didn't care and from what I could see anything I had to take to make me sleep would be habit forming because I needed to depend on it to make me sleep. And as far as I was concerned I would do anything. So she decided to put me back on Nuerontin. With in the next 2 days I called her and told her it was not working and she gave in and put me on the Hydrocodone. Shortly after that she sent me for a sleep study, only to find out I also had Sleep Apnea. Between the Cpap and the Hydrocodone, I did very well slept 5 hours and felt great!!!! Now I am waiting to get my Cpap. From what I understand this might be short lived and like all the other drugs the Hydrocodone will stop working one day. I have found a RLS chat room, which has been very help full, and found that many people are taking the Hydrocodone for there RLS. I am just hoping that the Doctors will educate themselves more on RlS and Sleeping Disoders and find a good solution for all of us that suffer with it.......Restless Rosie in NY
