: I'm bow-legged serious college distance runner and the outside of my right knee has bothered me for the last 3 years. I've been to 6 doctors and all of them are puzzled and none of them have definitive answers. One doc said it was the LCL, others have said the hamstring. The only thing i know is the fibular head in my right leg is much more prominent than the fibular head in my left. And the biggest point of soreness is on that right fibular head. Several X-rays and a bone scan did not show anything. I've tried knee braces, orthodics, Vioxx, and physical therapy and all have helped in the short term but none have proved to be a long term solution to alleviating the pain.
