Follow-Up:
Melissa, I am surprised your doctor did not recommend using a medicated ointment? Using nothing would seem worse. Thanks for the responses. Having read many BMS entries, here, I guess I am fortunate as I do not have the pain and exagerated symptoms that many have. My BMS came on suddenly Dec 24 with burning lips, tongue, upper pallate,& soft mouth tissue. I was first treated with Diflucan for Thrush. The treatment seemed to help, but did not cure anything. After three weeks, the Doctor decided it was stress, nerve related. This is when I discovered BMS thru the internet. Fortunately I remain with very little discomfort (tingling tip of tongue and the soft tissue aroung mouth on the inside. Also, the corners of my mouth on outside remain irritated. The strangest thing is a difference in the texture of the tissue around the outside of my lips. It is difficult to describe, but it is definitely different from the rest of the lip tissue. Again, appreciate responses and will continue to participate in discussion in hopes of that one thing that will work
