The doctor now gave me Bactroban Cream 2% which seems to help. I only use it at night. The texture outside of your lips...are they dry, rough and at times itchy? BMS is known as burning tongue with constant burning sensation in the tissues of the tongue. It can involve ANY portion of the tongue or the mouth, including the tip of the tongue, sides of the tongue, parts of the roof of the mouth, and the inside LIPS and cheek areas. No matter how hard one trys not to play with his/her lips, the outside gets involved. Maybe I'm not making my point right, but I know that my lips have been affected. Everyone has a different story about how they think they got BMS and what part of their mouth is bothering them. Many people have been writing about problems after dental treatment. I'm a dental hygienist and haven't had any work done on me in years (thank God), I'm 31 years old with good health, no depression or anxiety. I have no clue how I got BMS. All I know is that I'm not alone with this terrible problem and have to deal with it the best I can. Somedays will be good and others will not. Try getting a prescription for the Bactroban cream and see if it will help...Good Luck!
