Lynn sometimes medications can cause this problem and lack of certain vitamins such as the b vitamins and anemia. Has she been checked for these things? Melissa Mercury poisoning has been implicated in causing burning tongue and an array of other problems. Have you looked this up on the internet? Since you are a dental hygentist are you exposed to the vapors and do you have old fillings in your mouth? I have read that mercury leaks out of the teeth and get stuck in the tissues to cause problems anywhere in the body which I am experiencing now. I have had some old amalgams removed and I did feel a difference in my health so I know for a fact that it can cause problems. I am planning on having the rest of my fillings removed.
