Follow-Up:

I'm sorry that your mother is suffering with Sjogren's Syndrome. The dotors thought that was what I had, but I have BMS which is not as bad as what your mother has. Since her lacrimal glands are not working at their best maybe she should use re-wetting drops. People who wear contacts use this to moisten their eyes and might help her. They also have something called Artifical Tears. As for her mouth I wish I had the answer to get rid of the burning sensation. I too suffer from that and it's something I'm learning to deal with as it comes and goes. The dryness in her mouth can be kept at a minimum if she uses Salivart or some kind of Atificial Saliva. I don't know if they have these products in Itlay. My aunt is a pharmacist in Greece and sometimes they have better medications over there. Most people go to there pharmacist instead of a Doctor to get help when they're sick or something is bothering them. You might want to go to yours and see if you can get any of those Lubricants for your mother. Wish I could help some more, but from what I know there is no cure for this or BMS.
