Follow-Up: I have severe obstructed sleep apnea and it did affect my memory a great deal. I have had several occassions where I forgot how to use the correct fingering for teaching musical instruments, even instruments that I have played for over 30 years. Each time I had an apnea episode and the brain does not receive the amount of oxygen it does affect the brain and memory. I am now on a CPAP machine and have been since January. The memory is back but it did take a couple of weeks to get things together. I would seriously look for a sleep disorder facility where you live. My specialist for sleep apnea is also a respiratory specialist. That person may be your best bet for getting help. Good luck, Tom
