Follow-Up: Hi Doug. I am a 16 ( almost 17 ) year old girl. I was diagnosed with Central and obstructive sleep apnea at birth. The osa was caused by enlarged tonsils and a tissue mass in my throat. I also had enlarged adnoids which affected my hearing. About 1 month ago, I had surgery to remove my tonsils, andoids and the mass. I now can hear and also no longer have OSA. I still have CSA. You need to try and pinpoint the cause of your son's OSA. IF it is just his weight, try a Diet or something along those lines. I have never heard of UP3, but the tonsilectiomy did work for me. If your son wants to get better, he is going to have to work at it. I currently use a Bi-pap S/T with a rate. I didn't want to use it at first either, but now I feel much better with it. If you have any ?'s feel free to e-mail me @ mickeydl@asu.uswest.com
