Message: I wrote in July about dogs keeping me awake. I did get a nice reply from Mike and Rachell. Well, one suggestion was to get a "white noise machine". I got a tape "background city sounds". This compounded the problem. The "white noise" tape had a fire/police siren in the background. This caused the dogs to howl beyond belief. The siren was not audible to the human ear. I next tried to punish the dogs by spraying them with a mixture of dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride at 80:15 parts water. When they next started howling(2:30 AM), I sprayed them. The big dog, Apollo, got hit in the eyes, sending him into blind rage. Unfortunatly, the yard cat Sara got in the way. The cat will recover, but will always suffer from the encounter with the "cusiniart with fur". I have to tend to the cat every two hours, night and day. Not a problem with my sleep pattern. Last week was hot in the Santa Clara Vally and I had a window fan running. I tried spraying again, as Sara is in a box next to me. The mixture shorted the fan and set the curtains on fire. I spent all that night with the fire department. I am considering buying a hand gun, but am to tired to aim it. Its to the point that a key board is my pillow. I have deleated from my computer all dog clip art and dog sounds. The only time I can nod off is when I think about using a dog in a "super dave" skit. Stupid in Sunnyvale.
