Message: Has anyone who uses a CPAP machine experienced problems with nasal passages being blocked. After two weeks of using my machine (for moderately severe obstructive sleep apnea) I began having my nasal passages blocked. On a follow-up visit to my physician he examined me and indicated that I should try an over the counter medication such as Contact. I explained that I had tried several different oral medications but none helped and that I had begun using nasal spray. This worked but with prolonged use really irritates my nasal passages. So I quit and began experiencing rebound. My current state is, drainage with one passage closed at all times. The only time I can breath out of both nasal passages is when I do something to increase my heart rate. I hesitate to return to my physician since he stated that if my condition didn't clear up that he would prescribe a nasal spray. Most of the time I can still use my machine but can only breath out of one side of my nose or the other. Oddly, when I roll over the clear and blocked nostril change sides. Can anyone offer any advice. Thanks
