Follow-Up: Bill, My mother has Fibromyalgia and I have Hypersonomia. What I have learned from my mother is that she needs to maintain a very regular schedule, participate in lots of exercise, and only sleep her perscribed amount at certain times. Your bed is only for sleeping & sex, if you are not doing those stay out of it. She has found an interesting Paradox, the pain makes it difficult to sleep, hence always being tired, wanting more sleep, resulting in more pain. A real nasty cycle. The doctors she has been dealing with say it the lack of sleep causing the pain not the pain causing the lack of sleep. Now you get to throw into the mix Narcolepsy. It sounds like it will only increase the complexity of treating Fibromyalgia. My Mother is doing very well in dealing with her Fibromyalgia, many of her friends with it are not doing well at all. She follows the experts orders to the fine detail. Many people say they don't have the time to do what is asked of them, and they are laying around in pain. My mother is leading a full life of Exercise, Work, Exercise, Family, & Sleep. There is a women doctor out of Northwestern in Ill. that specializes in Fibromyalgia, I'd suggest looking up her readings & seminars. Good Luck.
