Follow-Up: My doctor just prescribed Paxil for me, and the warnings given with the Paxil state that you definitely should not mix Paxil with any MAO inhibitor, as serious and sometimes fatal interactions can occur. St. John's Wort contains a drug which is an MAO inhibitor. I know, because I was taking St. John's Wort before I was prescribed Paxil. So, although I'm not a doctor, and have no authority to give medical advice, my personal opinion would be that you should under no circumstances mix Paxil with St. John's Wort.
