Follow-Up: I too have rls and have had for many years. I am 56 years old. I am going to try the caffeine and sugar withdrawal to see if it works although I haven't had caffeine after lunch for a couple of years knowing it keeps me awake at night. I have never been able to pinpoint why I have this. Mine is not limited to nighttime hours. I have taken my grandchildren to the theatre in the afternoon and had to stand up in the back because my legs have hurt(or the non-feeling sensation) so bad. Also just sitting watching tv sometimes they bother me. The only thing I have found to help at night is to get up so I can wiggle all I want to so as to not bother my husband and let my legs get real cool, drink a glass of milk and go get back in a warm bed. I don't know if this helps or I just get so worn out I go to sleep then. I hesitate to take any kind of drugs because I don't want to get dependent on them. That's my story...
