Follow-Up: I went to a neurologist, who ordered a sleep test. Diagnosis: Periodic limb Movement/Restless Leg Syndrome. There are medications for this. I take Parlodel, which is a medication commonly used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Somewhere along the line they discovered that it also calms restless legs. Voila!!! No more restless legs. Every now and then I forget to take it, so it wears off. Then I can't imagine how I tolerated the discomfort of RLS all those years before my neurologist helped me.
