Follow-Up: This is coming from an ADD person who has been on either Adderall or Ritalin for 15 years. I switched to Provigil a month ago and it works for me as well as anything has before. For me it improves mood as well as attention. I am glad other people have mentioned sugar cravings. I have been eating a bag of cookies a day, lately, and feeling very quilty about it. I didn't make the connection with the Provigil. The reason I am responding to this subject is that I have very bad pain in my hands and it is getting worse. At first I thought the pain was coming from stress, but now I notice that after lifting bags or doing yard work that requires moving moderately heavy things with a sideways pressure to my hands the pain is getting more intense and is lasting longer each time it starts. It is getting to the point that using the mouse on the computer is starting to cause some pain. None of this pain was present before I started the Provigil. Can anyone relate to this? I am concerned to hear that the positive effect of this new medicine might wear off over time. I understand that is has a residual effect and should improve the positive effect of the medicine as time passes. Do you mean that things improve up to a point and then improvement is gradually lost after that? Kathy, it only made me sleepy at night after the medicine began to wear off. And this only happened at first. After I got used to each dosage level the sleepiness wore off. This is the best and the fastest I have ever been able to type in my life. I would hate to lose any of this ability to think about what I want to say and type at the same time. I have never been able to do that before. I look forward to feedback.
