Follow-Up: I have both, Fibromyalgia pain can be real bad. I take provigil 100mg for the narcolepsy, and it helps the depression a lot. Exspense though and new HMO won't pay for it. Just got SSI this month so may be able to keep house for a while. Both conditions were the result of car accident 12/11/99. 3shattered thorasic vertabrae, 5 blown disks, right side paralizis and a little brain damage. Have been going to fibro boards ever since learning. Most Doctors know very little about fibro. Low pressure systems make my pain a lot worse, ecspecially when they roll through in waves. Lighting doesn't help much either. Oh yea, forgot to mention the Epilepsy. Tegretol for that Plus Nurotin(Gabapentin)2600mg a day(max is 3100). Nurotin helps the fibro alot. I try to walk daily, sometimes I can do a mile (good day). Most people won't believe your pain with fibro because it can vary from day to day. Depression is a big one with most of the "fibros" that I have met. My narco is slowly improving, no one knows why. This has ruined my marriage, my life, and the struggle to "deal" with it all goes on daily, don't do it alone. Find a group, a board, a chat, somewhere to talk. You can survive, and some even win.
