you're not alone!

But that's no excuse to give up.

Browsers

CHOOSING A BROWSER

Netscape Navigator
There are a few things you need to get the most out of this WWW site. First off, these pages are Netscape Enhanced. That means if you don't have the latest version of Netscape (2.0 or later), then you're missing something. Well, not only something, but lots of somethings. If you don't have Netscape, we suggest you get it now! It's FREE and easy to install--in our humble opinion a far cry better than other Browsers.

BROWSER HINTS

The BISLEEP pages are graphically intense (AKA neat, cool, and bites of megabytes). This makes for a fine presentation, although it may become tiresome and aggravating if you have a slow speed connection. Our advice is that you simply turn off the auto-load of images in your browser's options. When you come across a picture you wish to see, simply click the load-image icon, and go fix yourself a sandwhich while the image slowly materializes on your screen.

ACROBAT

To employ the Acrobat reader you have to download and install it. After reading our helpful hints, if you still can't fathom how to download and utilize Acrobat, make a friend in the computer science department.

MAC
Downloading is easy. Simply click HERE . But before you do, make sure that you have Stuffit Expander so that your MAC will decode the reader. Do this task once and you will have usefull internet tools. If you don't have Stuffit Expander there are two ways you can go about getting it.

  1. If you have Binhex then simply click HERE and Netscape will download and install Stuffit Expander for you.
  2. If you don't have Binhex then you need to ftp it manually. Good luck! The ftp site is: ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mosaic/Mac/Helpers/stuffit-expander-352.bin

PC / Microsoft Windows

Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free from Adobe Systems for MS-DOS, and Microsoft Windows. Simply click HERE Once you have the file, simply run it with Windows's File Manager and follow the installation instructions.
After you have downloaded the reader YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!!!

If you have any problems, check out Adobe's Acrobat homepage for further instructions.

Files with the .PDF (Portable Document Format) suffix are Adobe Acrobat files;. To view them you will need the handy Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free from Adobe Systems for Macintosh, MS-DOS, and Microsoft Windows.

Installing the Acrobat Reader is not difficult if you are experienced at installing new software packages on your computer. If not, try to find someone to help you out. Be sure to configure your WWW browser to start the Acrobat Reader (or to save the PDF as a file), or you'll get screenfuls of garbage when you try to download these documents.
