The Women in Sleep and Rhythm Research will meet at the 16th annual APSS meeting in Seattle on June 11th from 6:30 to 8 PM. Dr. Joyce Walsleben will be making a presentation at this year's meeting. Dr. Walsleben is currently the Director of the New York University Sleep Disorders Center in the NY School of Medicine. She earned her RN from Bellevue School of Nursing in 1959 and her Ph.D. from State University of New York at Stony Brook in Biopsychology in 1987. She has been researching sleep issues for over 15 years and her book A Woman's Guide to Sleep was recently published (Crown Books, NY 2000). In her presentation she will discuss her research as well as how career issues tie in with the various roles women embrace. Following the presentation, there will be time for the attendees to meet with each other to discuss career and women's issues. There will also be a reception and cash bar.
